The United States branch of global load cell manufacturer Flintec achieves dual ISO certification

The engineering team based at our US facility in Massachusetts have achieved ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 13485:2003 certification following an audit conducted by National Quality Assurance (NQA) USA.

A stage 2, initial assessment, ISO audit was conducted, with confirmation received shortly after that Flintec had been recommended for certification under both ISO standards.

ISO 9001 provides reassurance to our customers that Flintec operates within the ISO quality management requirements. During the audit process our systems, services, equipment and people management were assessed and found to be compatible.

Many of our customers operate within the medical device industry, therefore it was important to obtain certification under ISO 13485, which specifies quality management systems applicable to the medical industry. Being accredited provides further confidence to our medical industry customers, who require highly tailored solutions capable of satisfying their project needs from design, manufacturing and certification.

The assessment process required a lot of hard work from a number of people at our US facility to ensure Flintec complied with the required standards. The team are now preparing for changes needed following the newly revised ISO 9001 standard due in September 2015.
